4 cups flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
6 tablespoons sugar
1½ teaspoons salt
1 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup milk

Mix dry ingredients together.  Cut in butter with pastry cutter or fork until it resembles coarse corn meal.  Beat eggs and add milk.  Pour the milk and egg mixture over the dry ingredients and stir slightly to mix.  Drop by tablespoon onto lightly greased baking sheet.  Bake in 450 degree oven for 6-8 minutes.  Serve with your choice of berries and top with whipped crème!


This makes a delicious dessert for company.  Everyone’s always impressed because you made the shortcake, just like grandma used to do!
